This work was done in conjunction with the Illinois Health Care Financing Administration. This goal was reached via the combined efforts of many individuals. She worked as a senior advisor at the Department of Health and Human Services, where she assisted communities all over the country in resolving concerns such as threats posed by bioterrorism, natural disasters, and public health emergencies. She also provided assistance to communities in the event of a public health emergency. In the event that there was a crisis with the public’s health, she provided assistance to the communities in order to support them. Her entire career in public service was spent at the Department of Health and Human Services, where she played a pivotal role in expanding the reach of Medicare, improving the quality of medical care, and reorganizing the private insurance industry.
